Antique Carousel: A Rare Summer Delight
One of the most nostalgic and beloved features of our campground is our 1916 Herschel Little Beauty Traveling Carousel. This vintage gem brings a touch of classic fairground magic to Papoose Pond and is something you won’t find at just any campground. Originally built to travel with early 20th-century carnivals, our carousel now calls Papoose Pond home—and we’re proud to share it with a new generation of campers.
The carousel operates daily (in the evenings) during the summer season, offering a whimsical and memorable ride experience for campers of all ages. It’s a standout amenity that reflects our commitment to creating fun, family-focused experiences filled with charm, tradition, and just the right amount of magic.
Half-Mile Sandy Beach
The campground boasts a picturesque half-mile sandy beach along the shores of Papoose Pond. This expansive beachfront provides ample space for sunbathing, building sandcastles, or simply relaxing by the water. The calm waters of the pond make it ideal for families with children and those looking to enjoy a peaceful swim. We even offer beachfront sites, so that you don’t miss out on a single moment while you stay with us.
Boat Rentals
Water enthusiasts can take advantage of the campground’s fleet of over 50 non-motorized boats, including canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and rowboats. Guests are also welcome to bring their own non-motorized boats to explore the serene waters of Papoose Pond. However, motorboats are not permitted to maintain the tranquility of the environment.
Recreational Facilities
Papoose Pond is equipped with a variety of recreational facilities to keep guests active and entertained:​
- Mini-Golf: A fun course suitable for all ages.​
- Volleyball, Basketball and Pickleball Courts: Well-maintained courts for both casual and competitive play.​

For those who prefer poolside relaxation, Papoose Pond offers a 30′ x 60′ heated swimming pool. This amenity ensures comfortable swimming conditions throughout the camping season, regardless of the weather. It’s a perfect spot for both exercise and leisure.
Accommodation Options
The campground offers a range of accommodations to suit different preferences:​

During the mid-season, Papoose Pond organizes more than 100 planned activities and nightly entertainment each week. Recent Upgrades
In 2025, Papoose Pond has introduced several enhancements to improve the guest experience:
- Bathhouse 4 Remodel: A complete renovation to provide modern and comfortable facilities.​
- New Pavilion: Replacing the old movie tent, this pavilion offers better weather protection and an improved outdoor movie experience.
These upgrades reflect the campground’s commitment to continually improving its amenities for guests.
